MEMBERSHIP

If you are work with children and young people, committed to partnership working and would like to part of a growing movement towards positive change in the lives of children and young people in Solihull. Join us today! 

You can become a full member of YO Solihull if:

  • You are a not-for-profit organisation

  • You are working with children and young people (aged 0-25) in Solihull

  • You wish to work with children and young people (aged 0-25) in Solihull

  • You are, or are working towards being, a formally constituted group

  • You have an annual turnover of less than £1m

  • You are committed to working in partnership with others

  • You sign up to the partnership’s principles (see below)

  • You can submit a safeguarding policy and insurance documents

  • You commit to being an ‘active member’ (see below)

  • You commit to working with YO Solihull on quality (of your provision, and of provision across Solihull)

We are keen to ensure that the partnership is inclusive, and can make best use of wider partners across the area, especially with opportunities around public health, violence reduction and with both the private and the statutory sectors.  Please note you can become an associate member of YO Solihull and access information and particular events and meetings if you don’t meet our full membership criteria because the following may apply to you.

  • You do not work in Solihull

  • You want to support children and young people without working directly with them,

  • You are a statutory organisation or part of one, or

  • You are a supportive private company (but you are not ‘not-for-profit)

If any of these apply to you, you would still be very welcome to join as an associate member.

Benefits of Full Membership

  • Networking and collaboration – bringing people together to share, learn and find ways to work together

  • Information sharing – providing and receiving useful information and updates for members e.g. via our newsletter and social media

  • Celebratory events and activities – partnership-wide work together e.g. awards night, Playday,

  • Training – accessing workshop and seminar opportunities on identified issues and training needs

  • Influencing and advocacy – working together to shape the local offer for children and young people, investment in the area and wider work (e.g. engage in regional and national work)

  • Supporter engagement – building connections across the city, and providing platforms for members to engage e.g. with public sector, private sector/business

  • Funding – exploring collaborations on funding and consortium bids for local, regional and national funds

  • Mapping and coordinating – supporting members to be part of a city-wide offer, which is understood by young people and communities, supported by the sector and funders and identifies what is happening where, when, how and by whom.

 

As the partnership grows, we anticipate the benefits to also increase in terms of funding or commissioning opportunities as well as regular support and communication.  The more actively involved our members are, the more we will all gain!  Membership is FREE and will need to be renewed each year, to ensure information is up to date.

We ask members to:

  • Commit to being actively involved in partnership, through attendance at meetings and events and/or helping to organise and deliver these where relevant

  • Contribute to our shared understanding of Solihull and the needs of children and young people’s needs by completing an annual survey and sharing data

  • Discuss your needs and ambitions with us and help us shape YO Solihull to achieve our collective vision
